Floryn joins us this summer as assistant choreographer. You can find out much more about her at: http://www.FlorynGlass.com

Floryn Glass grew up in Port Washington and performed in seven Port Summer Show productions. She has performed in lead and featured roles with Westchester Broadway Theatre, Tuacahn Center for the Arts, Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, Galveston Island Musicals, and Bigfork Summer Playhouse to name a few.

Her favorite roles include (but are not limited to!) Velma in Chicago, Rosemary in Bullshot Crummond, Patsy in Crazy For You, Cha-Cha in Grease, Elizabeth in A Christmas Carol, a Silly Girl in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Betty Jean in The Winter Wonderettes, and Sadako in A Thousand Cranes.

New York credits include a featured role in a new musical called Hell's Kitchen, performed Off-Broadway at The Players Theatre, where she also served as dance captain and a featured dancer.

Floryn has also played lead roles in two independent films shot in New York. She holds a B.S. in Theater with a minor in Dance from Skidmore College and has studied intensively at Stella Adler Conservatory of Acting. She studies voice with Linda Larson, Broadway star Jodie Langel, and continues to dance at various reknowned studios in NYC such as the Paul Taylor School, The Alvin Ailey Extension, New Dance Group, and Broadway Dance Center.

Floryn is a proud member of the Actor's Equity Association.

Floryn had her teaching debut as a swim instructor when she was 17 years old and continued to teach swimming for 5 summers thereafter. When she graduated from college and came back to NY, she visited her old dance studio. Much to her surprise, the director of the school, Olga Berest, whom she has known since she was 4 years old said, "You need a job!" and gave her one.

Floryn has been teaching dance to children ages 3-18 at the Berest Dance Center since then. She built the jazz/music theater dance program at Berest and has developed it into a full jazz curriculum. She also teaches tap and ballet, and choreographs pieces for the school's holiday shows.

Floryn also writes, directs and choreographs for both children and professionals. Her credits include conceiving, directing, music directing, and choreographing Schreiber High School's first Women's History Month theatrical production--"I Am A Woman"-- in 2007. Floryn has continued this tradition with the students, and in 2008 collaborated with the students on a brand new production called "I Heart the f-word." In 2009, she is writing/directing a farcical twisted fairytale called "Pretty Pretty Princess." Floryn has also directed children's theater productions for Prairie Fire Children's Theatre touring 8 states in the midwest. Theater choreography credits include Bigfork Children's Theatre's production of "The Wizard of Oz" in Bigfork, MT; and (for professionals) Galveston Island Musicals' production of "Buddy and the Bopper" in Galveston, TX.
